Getting started & your account
Open your accountHow do I make my first song?
Sign in to your WaveQuake account and check that you have creation allowance. Open Create a song, add lyrics and describe the sound you want. You can choose a saved artist voice too. Press Create 2 versions. Follow the progress in My tracks, then listen to both versions and download your favourite.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Open the studio in your browser on desktop or mobile. On a small screen, open the studio menu to switch tools. Music processing happens online, so you need an internet connection.
How do I sign in or reset my password?
Open Your account and use the sign-in or password-reset controls. For confirmation or reset mail, check your inbox and spam for WaveQuake from hello@wavequake.com. Use the newest link; an expired or used link needs replacing. Never share your password, security code or email sign-in link.
Where can I check my access and purchases?
Open Your account using the same email you used at checkout. It shows your actual access and allowance. Invitations and other grants can differ from the paid offer. If a purchase is still being checked, refresh its status before trying another payment.
Create a song
Open CreateWhat should I put in Musical direction?
Describe the genre, instruments, mood, tempo and arrangement. For example: “Acoustic folk, fingerpicked guitar, warm tenor, intimate verses and a lifting chorus, 92 BPM.” Use Build my sound if you want help assembling a brief. Your direction and saved artist descriptions share a 2,000-character limit.
How do I add lyrics and sections?
Type or paste your lyrics in Create, or choose Write with Songwriter. The Verse, Chorus, Bridge and Outro buttons add section labels. Browser music generation accepts up to 5,000 lyric characters. Review the words before generating; editing them afterward creates a new request rather than changing finished audio.
Can I make instrumental music or choose an exact duration?
The current browser music service needs lyrics and vocals, and chooses the song length automatically. Instrumental-only and score-guided generation are not included. An instrumental sound recipe is a writing starting point; add lyrics and vocal direction before using it with the browser music service.
Does choosing an artist replace my lyrics?
No. The Artist voice selector changes the saved vocal direction for the current song. Your lyrics and musical direction stay in place. Choose No artist profile to remove it. Save idea if you want to keep this combination in My ideas.
Songwriter
Open SongwriterHow do I get Songwriter to write lyrics?
Choose a genre and lyric language, describe what the song is really about, and add concrete story details and an emotional direction. Optional fields let you keep an exact line, avoid words or build around a hook. Press Write my lyrics. The completed draft opens automatically for reading and editing.
How do I turn the lyrics into a song?
Review the open draft, edit its title or lyrics, then press Use lyrics & create song. The studio brings them into Create. If you already have lyrics there, it asks before replacing them. Choose your sound and artist, then press Create 2 versions to make the audio. Writing lyrics and generating music are separate requests.
How do I improve lyrics I already have?
Open Develop an existing lyric in the writing brief. Paste your draft, or choose Bring current song lyrics. Explain the direction you want, keep any essential line in A line to keep exactly, then press Develop my lyrics. In the embedded Songwriter, choose Edit writing brief to reveal these controls after a result opens.
Where are my earlier lyric drafts?
Open Writing versions in Songwriter and choose Open lyrics beside a version. Use Load older writing for earlier results. Edits are kept in this browser when you switch versions. Apply the draft to your song and Save idea, or export a copy, to keep the words beyond that browser session and the service retention period.
What if a writing request seems stuck?
Check Writing versions for a queued or processing request. If you see Check request, use it to recover the saved request before submitting again. Each new writing request uses allowance; checking an existing saved request does not create another one. Follow any capacity message shown in the studio.
Artist voice
Open Artist voiceHow do I create a voice and immediately use it?
Open Artist voice, give the profile an Artist name and describe its Vocal character. Add language and delivery if useful; reference notes are saved for you and are not sent with music generation. Press Save & use in song. Create opens with that artist selected, while your lyrics and musical direction stay in place. Review the song and press Create 2 versions.
How do I reuse an artist I saved earlier?
In Create, choose the profile from the visible Artist voice selector. Or open Artist voice and press Use beside a profile in Ready to use. If an older profile is missing, choose Load older saved items on the artist page. You do not need to recreate the profile for every song.
What makes a useful artist description?
Describe the sound and delivery in plain language. Vocal character might be “warm alto, slightly husky, restrained vibrato.” Delivery might be “conversational verses, clear consonants, a stronger open chorus.” Keep notes concise and consistent with the song’s musical direction. A descriptive name helps you find the profile later.
Does an artist profile clone my voice or keep exactly the same singer?
A written artist profile guides vocal style. A saved recording can also guide recorded-voice conversion on a finished song when that tool is enabled. Neither promises an identical singer on every result. The recording is reused without training a separate model for your account; listen to each result before release.
How do I apply a recorded voice to a different song?
Recorded-voice conversion applies a saved recording to a different song. When enabled for your account, Artist voice shows Saved voice recording: upload a clean solo vocal, choose a 5–30 second excerpt and Save & use voice. Choose a finished song below, confirm permission and create the new version. You can also choose Change voice beside a track in My tracks. The original stays unchanged; listen to the result because likeness can vary.
What if my recorded-voice conversion is interrupted?
When this capability is enabled, an uncertain submission offers Check saved voice request. Use that button to recover the same request, including after a refresh. Follow the reported processing stages below the artist form or under Voice versions in My tracks. A failed or cancelled task keeps your original recording. Saved voice recordings stay available while attached to a profile and count toward private storage. Removing the reference restores normal file expiry.
How does recorded-voice conversion use my allowance?
Each new conversion reserves the source song’s duration from your existing creation-minute balance, rounded up to the next second. A four-minute song uses four minutes and no extra song-generation slot. Saving a voice, playing and downloading a retained result use no creation minutes. Failed or cancelled conversions return reserved minutes after processing is reconciled. An uncertain request keeps its reservation while we recover the existing result.
How many recorded voices can I save and reuse?
When recorded-voice conversion is enabled, you can save three recorded voices per account. Upload once and reopen the saved profile for each new song. Replace its recording, or remove the recording and save to free a slot. Written artist profiles do not use voice slots. One voice conversion can be queued or processing per account. Replaying or downloading a retained result does not run another conversion.
How do I edit a saved artist?
In Create, choose Edit selected profile, or open Artist voice and select a Saved profile. Change the fields, then choose Save & use in song to apply the saved version immediately, or Save profile to stay on the artist page. Unsaved profile edits are not used for generation. Existing recordings stay unchanged.
Progress, playback & downloads
Open My tracksWhere does my song appear while it is being made?
New generations appear in My tracks with stages for queueing, creating and finishing. The activity panel follows them while you use other studio tools; choose View progress to return. Ready to listen appears when the audio is available. Stages reflect reported status, not a predicted percentage or guaranteed finish time.
How do I find and listen to both versions?
Open My tracks, search by song title or sound, and use All, Ready or In progress to filter. Each successful generation has two versions with play controls. The player stays available as you move around the studio. Use the older-recordings control to load earlier songs.
How do I download MP3 and WAV files?
Open a ready song in My tracks and use the MP3 or WAV download for the version you want. MP3 is convenient for sharing; WAV is useful for further audio work. Download both versions if you want to compare them later. Repeated downloads of retained files do not use creation allowance.
Can I reuse a song’s brief or change finished audio?
Choose Use this brief on a song to bring its title, lyrics and direction into Create. Review any replacement prompt so you do not lose an unsaved draft. Edit the brief and generate again for new audio. Reusing a brief does not edit the existing recording and does not restore a separate saved artist selection automatically.
What should I do after a connection error?
Keep the saved request. Use Check pending song or the recovery control shown before creating another generation. A lost connection does not mean the request failed. Uncertain outcomes stay reserved until checked; confirmed unpaid failures release their reservation once. If it remains unresolved, send support the request reference and approximate time.
Can I create more than one song at a time?
You can have two music jobs active at once. There is no hourly music-generation limit, but your creation bank and shared capacity still apply. If the studio is busy, let an active task finish and follow the message shown. A new submission is a separate generation even when the brief is identical.
Saved ideas & song briefs
Open My ideasWhat is the difference between My ideas and My tracks?
My ideas stores your editable song briefs: lyrics, musical direction and settings. My tracks contains generated audio. Press Save idea in Create to save a reusable brief. Your current draft also saves in this browser, but that browser draft is separate from your saved library.
How do I open, duplicate or delete an idea?
Open My ideas, search or filter favourites, and choose a saved idea to load it into Create. The duplicate control makes a copy for a new direction. Deleting a saved idea does not delete its recordings from My tracks. Read the replacement prompt before loading over unsaved work.
How do I export or import a brief?
In Create, choose Export song brief to download a WaveQuake JSON file. Use Import brief in My ideas to reopen a compatible file. This exports writing and song settings, not audio or your saved artist profile. Select the artist again after import and download recordings separately.
Explore sounds
Explore soundsHow do I start from a sound recipe?
Open Explore sounds and choose Start with this sound on a recipe. It creates a new brief with that musical direction. If you have an unsaved draft, review the replacement prompt first. Adjust the instruments and mood, add lyrics and an optional artist profile, then generate.
Prompt Lab & the sound builder
Open Prompt LabHow do I build a musical direction without writing a long prompt?
Open Prompt Lab, or Build my sound inside Create. Choose the language, genre, voice, instruments, arrangement and tempo. Review the assembled direction and apply it to your song. These settings guide the result; they do not precisely control every note or guarantee an exact tempo.
Cover versions & reference recordings
Open cover creationHow do I make a cover from a recording?
Open Cover versions and choose Open cloud covers. Upload a recording you have permission to process, add the requested lyrics and musical direction, and review the allowance before generating. The browser cover workflow produces two new versions. The separate transcription tools are not required for this workflow.
What can I upload, and does a cover clone a voice?
Follow the accepted formats, file size and duration limits shown beside the upload control. Keep the original file. A reference recording guides a cover request; it is not a voice-cloning or exact-singer guarantee. Only upload material you have the necessary permission to use.
Mastering
Open MasteringHow do I master one of my songs?
Open Mastering and upload an audio file or choose an available source recording. For a generated song, download its WAV first and upload that WAV as your source. Select Natural, Warm or Punch and press Create master. Wait for the task to finish, compare the result and download the new WAV and report.
Which mastering preset should I choose?
Natural preserves the tonal balance, Warm adds low-end weight and softens the highs, and Punch gives stronger impact with more controlled dynamics. Compare by listening. Mastering produces a separate 24-bit, 48 kHz WAV; the source recording stays unchanged. The report shows the measured result.
Sheet music
Open Sheet musicHow do I edit, print or export sheet music?
Open Sheet music. Load the example, import an ABC text file, or type ABC notation in Editable ABC score. Review the working preview, then choose Export ABC for an editable file or Print / Save PDF for a copy. Save the song idea to keep its score with the brief.
Will the browser generate music from my score?
Score-guided generation and automatic transcription are not included in the browser service. The sheet editor is for editable ABC notation and a simplified working preview. It is not full engraving: key signatures, rhythmic spacing and some notation are not drawn accurately. Keep the ABC source for exact notation.
Hum to Song & voice memos
Open the recording toolHow do I record or upload a melody idea?
Open Hum to Song, allow microphone access and choose Record a hum. Stop when you have captured the idea, then use the recording upload control to keep it in your private studio. You can also upload an existing recording. Keep a clear, single melody and save your own original copy.
Why can I not transcribe my hum automatically?
Automatic melody transcription is not connected in the browser service. Recording or uploading a hum does not automatically turn it into sheet music or a finished song. You can use a permitted recording in the separate cover workflow, or describe the melody’s feel in Create and add lyrics.
Allowance, payments & retention
See the offer and limitsWhat is included in the one-time creation bank?
The $149.99 offer includes up to 1,000 music generations within 3,000 music minutes, plus 2,000 Songwriter requests. Both music limits apply. Each successful music generation returns two versions. The bank does not refill automatically. Your account shows the actual grant and remaining balance.
How are music minutes reserved and counted?
The studio shows the reservation before generation. A completed song uses the longer version’s reported duration, rounded up to a whole second; unused reserved time is returned. Confirmed unpaid submission failures return the reservation. Uncertain results remain reserved until reconciled. Disliking a successful result is different from a failed request.
How long do my recordings stay available?
The paid offer includes 10 GB of working storage and 30-day audio retention. Download anything you want to keep before expiry. Unlimited downloads apply while files are retained; the studio is not a permanent archive. Invitations can have a different access period.
What if I paid but my allowance has not appeared?
Sign in with the account used at checkout and refresh the purchase status. Do not pay again while the first payment is being checked. Contact support with your account email, receipt reference and purchase time if the allowance is still missing. Do not send card details.
Commercial use, privacy & support
Read the termsCan I use the music commercially?
A full commercial licence is included within the applicable terms and the rights WaveQuake can grant. It does not clear third-party recordings, compositions, lyrics or voices, and does not guarantee copyright or exclusivity. Review the Commercial use page and Terms of Service before releasing a cover or other third-party material.
How do I request a refund or delete my account?
Email support@wavequake.com from your account address. For a refund, include the receipt reference and describe the issue. For deletion, say that you want to close the account and delete its studio data. Download your files first. We verify ownership; required payment and legal records may be retained as explained in the Privacy Notice. The Terms of Service set out applicable remedies.
What should I include in a support request?
Tell us the tool you were using, what you expected, the exact error, and approximately when it happened. Include a request or receipt reference if relevant. Never send passwords, authentication links, security codes or card details. Use support@wavequake.com for account, billing or studio help.
Do the older release and shop pages distribute or sell my music?
The current product is the browser music studio. Earlier release and shop workspaces are drafts and demonstrations; creating a draft there does not upload, distribute, publish or sell a recording. Use My tracks to download the audio you want to take elsewhere.
